In the late 1970s I was on the spider deck at the left hand column, (the one that's completely under water). I was watching a whale approaching in a straight line from about 3 miles out and he was breeching every minute or so. Sure enough, he breeched only 20 yards from where I was standing. At this moment I realised that he was black and white, big and scarred to buggery. A hell of a sight.
