I worked on the BP Bruce 'jacket' construction back in 1991-92 in Methil Fife. I consider myself fortunate to have been part of big jacket builds which were sadly coming to an end as far as Methil was concerned. After spending years in ship construction I joined the oil industry with the start of the 'Bruce' build. I found it totally fascinating and loved my time there. The golden years of rig construction in the UK are all but gone . . great shame.

Worked on the Bruce from 2005-2009, firstly during the Phase IV drilling recertification project, and then into the susbsequent drilling programme. On the Harding now.....lot of good things about the Bruce, mostly the great people I met there during my 4yr spell.
