Brown & Root DB Hercules, Persian Gulf 1978The last job I worked for Taylor Diving & Salvage was onboard the Hercules, removing 2 abandoned platform jackets in the Persian Gulf in November 1978. It was the highlight of my tenure with TDS -- I made a bunch of dives, I got to use explosives, and we didn't get arrested by the Iranian Navy for not having a blasting permit. Seeing as how the Shah's government was weeks away from collapse, they weren't keen on giving people permission to use explosives... Anyway, I also worked on the DB Atlas in the North Sea, building the Statfjord platform. I can't find any photos of the Atlas -- if anyone has a lead on that, please let me know!
