Is this picture taken from the TP1 (Treatment Platform 1) or is it from a barge decommissioning the field?
I worked on TP1 for a few trips with Malcolm and Alan Instrumentation from Glasgow back in the seventies.

The name of the platform is 'Central Drilling Platform One' This is indicated on the signage CDP1 as seen in the picture. I think the main construction contractor was Brown and Roote.

Sad to see that the game is over for the Frigg field. I was a rigger and scaffolder there back in 1983 until 1985, then we went back to Ekofisk again. Popular place Frigg field, and we Norwegians never forget the tax free onboard the QP platform.

I also remember Ekofisk Carl. The Ekofisk Tank was my first offshore trip. Built on much the same design as the CDP1.

Yes my friend Tony, the bottom was buildt in ånalsnes, mid Norway, built on the same system as the tank on Ekofisk, at the french system called Doris Tank.

CDP 1 was towed out of Andalsnes in 1975. I was involved installing a radio cabin for Total Oil Marine when working for EAE in Aberdeen.

Thanks Carl and Peter, they were interesting days putting these structures together,

I worked on the Frigg Field construction with Brown and Root. I worked on modules and the flare boom assembly at the Wilson Walton yard on Normanby Wharf, Teesside, the Hartlepool Dockside, the HDW yard in Hamburg and on the Total/Elf yard at Dusavik, Stavanger. A lot of the work was for CDP1 and TP1, I have quite a lot of photos of many of the units somewhere.
